La Jolla Shores Hotel is a 70 plus year old property, and its age shows. Renovations are underway, which is encouraging. What truly made our stay enjoyable was the outstanding hospitality the staff made all the difference.
Great ocean views. Had brunch at table w fire top. Wonderful wine. Dekctable Eggs Benedict and Spectacular Service. Highly recommend
We loved it here. Perfect location. Lots of activities for little ones. Beach was fantastic, and right outside the hotel. Shores restaurant was great, and we walked to several other restaurants close by. Only complaint was a few items in our room not working, but service fixed them same day so no big deal. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a great experience at the hotel. Booked 2 rooms for one family but for the first night we had rooms on separate floors. Just to compensate this inconvenience l,we were given complementary parking. Rooms are slightly out to date but the location is out of the world. Thanks Christian and Dylon at the front desk for making our experience amazing.

Our waitress, Sarahi, was absolutely amazing — attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. She checked on us regularly, made great recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. Her professionalism and warmth made our meal even more enjoyable. Whether you’re stopping in after a walk along the shore or planning a sunset meal with a view, The Shores Restaurant delivers a memorable experience. Between the ocean views, relaxed ambiance, and standout service from Sarahi, it’s a place we’d happily return to.
We stayed here last minute and they were able to accommodate us for a couple of nights. I was surprised and impressed by the customer service from the staff. They were all so nice and welcoming. The building is outdated but not bad, the location being right by the beach definitely makes up for it. They have a restaurant in the hotel and other restaurants that are walking distance. I like how they have a service to set up beach chairs and umbrellas, it's very convenient. Paying for parking is kind of crazy but we lucked out with street parking since it's not a busy season. Either way, I look forward to coming again!
A great spot for locals and out of towners to stay and enjoy all that La Jolla has to offer. With a prime location on the beach, you are literally steps from the water. Rooms are clean, comfy and spacious and provide sounds of the waves. With cormorants flying over, you know you are exactly where you were meant to be. On vacation mode. My visit and stay was short but sweet and memorable. Always a great decision. I'll never forget my birthday celebration at the La Jolla Shores Hotel. Thank you
